  I always knew learning Hiragana wouldn't be simple. much like with any language, you need to start with the basics. learning very simple words like chair and shirt and associating the sounds and symbols with it is just like learning English in kindergarten. This is needed of course, you can't learn complex sentence structure and double entendres if you don't know how to say apple. So while it seems kinda of embarrassing in some way (at least to me), it's needed and will be worth it in the end. I remember the way I learned English as a kid, and I'm pretty sure this went for everyone, but you just ended up picking up words from your parents and looking at what they were doing. You pick up context clues and associate the words with the objects and soon enough you are learning words.     I think many of us have thought about learning a new language. The main reason I feel is to help communicate better with other people. This is the main reason I want to learn a new language, I want to better understand more people from a new place and better learn their culture. I've been fascinated by Japanese culture since I was younger, but research can only take me so far. what better way to learn than to experience it firsthand? If I were to ever visit Japan one day, I want to know at least the basics of the language. My other reason might seem a bit selfish, but I do think it could help benefit me and my career to know a third language. I know Spanish fairly well and learning another language would help me communicate with a more diverse group of people. I find this helpful because animation is a largely communicative career, and I would like those sets of tools if I ever need them.
